Culture Night is back!

Culture Night

Over 90 venues are taking part this year, throwing open their doors on one night and organising  events, from art exhibitions to poetry, orchestras to food markets, deconstructed bicycles to a giant see-saw – and it’s all free.

“Cork Culture Night has been  being completely embraced by the people of Cork with over 43,000 visitors to the venues in 2012. Cork people have a long tradition of supporting arts and culture and with over 150 free events in over 90 venues  they won’t be disappointed with what’s on offer the Culture Night. ,” said Lord Mayor of Cork, Cllr Catherine Clancy

This is the 4th year of this national event and   Cork has seen phenomenal uptake with visitors increasing every year since its inception. “From the English Market to the Butter Museum and from Blackrock Castle to the Glucksman Gallery, Cork venues have embraced the night again this year by so generously putting on an exciting array of events for free  to engage everyone, both visitors and locals alike,” said City Manager Tim Lucey.

Once more Bus Eireann have come on board and the Culture Bus will be ferrying people from venue to venue free of charge on the night.
