Social Activity Programme

We offer a varied and interesting Social Activity Programme with free workshops, local visits and activities to give you the opportunity to practice your English language skills in real situations.

Free Workshops

Every week we offer both our morning and afternoon students 4 free workshops (Monday to Thursday).

Each workshop is half an hour long and open to all language levels. It is a great way for students to practice their English while also having fun and making new friends.

Local Visits 

The Social Programme encourages students to discover the beautiful places of interest in Cork city. We organise 3 activities/tours per week, visiting some of the most famed places in Cork City and Ireland.

Live Online /Virtual Classes

Since the closure of schools due to COVID-19 Government measures, Cork English Academy’s current students were invited to register for level-specific, self-guided language exercises using our Online Learning Platform.

From Monday June 15th we will be launching our Live Online/Virtual Classes with CEA teachers.

Courses will start Monday June 15th and can be joined any Monday throughout the year.

Students will transfer to face-to face classes as soon as the school reopens (date yet to be confirmed by Government)

Live Online/Virtual Classes

  • Level-specific, group classes with CEA teachers will be delivered on Zoom
  • Preparatory work prior to the live lessons (email with assignments, readings, videos for example)
  • Homework assignments with teacher correction and feedback
  • Guided self-study assignments
  • 15 hours per week
  • Schedule: 3 hours per day Monday to Friday

Who are the Live Online/Virtual Classes for?

  • Current Students – Any student currently enrolled in CEA.
  • Current Students with Stamp 2 Status: Attending Live Online/Virtual Classes is now mandatory for students outside of the EU currently on Stamp 2 status.
  • Past Students: Students who requested to cancel the remainder of their course who were issued a course voucher for remaining weeks. You can choose to use this voucher now rather than waiting for the school to reopen if you wish.
  • Renewal Students: Past Stamp 2 status students (CEA or students from other schools in Ireland) who want renew a course and stay in Ireland for a further 8 months. (Renewal Special Offer Price)
  • Third time Renewal Extensions: Students who have finished their third 8 month period (2 years) who have now been granted permission to stay in Ireland up until 31 December maximum (Special Offer Price). Remember you must by Immigration rule book course weeks from 15th June or your visa expiry date until your flight departure home or maximum December 18th when the school closes for Christmas.
  • New Students: Students abroad who for travel or budget constraints cannot travel to Cork for an immersive language programme, who are available for and could benefit from 3 hours per day Live Online/Virtual Classes.
