The General English Combination Course combines the 20 hour per week group English language course (GE20) in the morning with either 5, 10 or 15 hours of individual English language lessons in the afternoon.
The additional one-to-one English language lessons give the student the opportunity to focus in greater detail on their own particular needs and goals.
The morning group English language course covers all of the language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing with an emphasis on speaking and listening.
The main focus of the General English 20 hour course is on communication skills in real life settings.
After lunch students have their one-to-one lessons with their trainer and the content of these lessons will be determined by a detailed needs analysis and interview with the trainer on the first afternoon. Students may choose to prepare for a particular event or may wish to focus in more detail on an aspect of the English language which they find particularly challenging or interesting.
Course books, workbooks and supplementary material including authentic materials such as newspaper articles newspapers, DVDs, the Internet, books and other media are utilized by the teacher to meet the English language needs of the students.
You can join this English language course on any Monday of the year except in the case of a bank holiday where courses then start on the following Tuesday.
