Parents Programme

The General English Course GE20 is a 20 hour per week module which runs Monday to Friday in the morning for four hours each day.

This leaves you free for the remainder of the day to explore Cork and the surrounding areas with your family, join the social and activities programme or study in our self access facilities.

The main focus of the General English 20 hour course is on communication skills in real life settings.

The daily four hour lesson covers all of the language skills – speaking, listening, reading and writing with an emphasis on speaking and listening.

Dates: Any Monday except where the school is closed due bank holidays. In such cases tuition will start on the following Tuesday. An excursion will be organised by the school on bank holiday Mondays in lieu of classes.

Kids Activity Camp for ages 4 to 12

The camp is held in the University College Cork Sports Arena, Mardyke Arena, Mardyke Walk, Western Road, Cork City. The majority of the kids attending are Irish. This is an Activity Camp only and there is no English Tuition.

Children are organised into small groups by age and are assigned a specialised group leader who helps them throughout the week. Groups follow a daily schedule that includes up to 8 activities per day. Activities vary on a daily basis with the emphasis on fun and development in a safe and encouraging environment.

The camp runs in the Summer months and throughout the year when Irish primary school kids are on their mid-term breaks from school.

The timetable is Monday to Friday 08.30 to 15.00 (08.30 – 09.30 Supervision with activities. The camp starts at 10.00).

Easter Dates:

4 day camp – Monday 25th – Thursday 28th March 2013

4 day camp – Tuesday 2nd – Friday 5th April 2013

Summer Dates:

From Monday 1st July to Friday 2nd August and Monday 12th – Friday to 23rd August 2013.

Teenagers Junior Summer School for ages 12 to 17

The Junior Summer School is located in the Cork Institute of Technology, Bishopstown -15 minutes bus journey from Cork English Academy.

OPTION A: The English Language and Activity programme includes three hours daily tuition – 15 hours/20 classes per week along with afternoon activities finishing at 16.45 each day.

Price:€405 per person per week

OPTION B: English Language Tuition 15 hours/20 classes per week finishing at 12.45 each day 15 hours/20 classes per week by fully qualified highly experienced native teachers.

Price:€365 per person per week
