Booking Procedure

Booking Procedure Short Term & EU Students

  1. Send the school a completed Registration Form (Word version & PDF version)
  2. School Registrar will send you a Registration Confirmation document along with Invoices
  3. The student will receive an email with Online Placement Test details at least 4 weeks before course start date
  4. The Final Travel Document will be sent to you once the school have the following:
    – Placement test result
    – Flight details and accommodation check-in details (required at least 28 days before course start date)
    – Payment in full (required at least 28 days before course start date)

Booking Procedure Academic Year (non-EU) Students

  1. Send the school a completed Registration Form (Word version & PDF version)
  2. The student will receive an email with Online Placement Test details. Once the school receives the results the most suitable Academic Year and Final Exam will be selected by the school.
  3. School Registrar will send you a Registration Confirmation document along with Invoices
  4. The Final Travel Document will be sent to you once the school have the following:
    – Placement Test result
    – Flight details and accommodation check-in details (required at least 28 days before course start date)
    – Payment in full (required at least 28 days before course start date/ before Official School Letter can be issued)

Placement Test Procedure

  • The Online Placement Test details will be sent to students by email directly from the school
  • Please ask the student to complete the placement test as soon as received
  • The Placement test takes up to 90 minutes maximum and it must be taken from a computer
  • The student will be tested for Grammar and Listening (headphones are required)
  • Once completed the school will automatically be sent the level test results
  • Students will have a short Speaking Test with our Director of Studies on their first course day
  • Results of the online test and speaking test combined are used to place the student in the appropriate class/level
  • The school offers group courses for students from Elementary level (CEF A1) to Advanced (CEF C2). We do not offer courses for students who test as Absolute Beginner (CEF A0).

Apartment Check-in Procedure

Apartment check-in details are required at least 28 days before course start date. The following is required for the school to secure and confirm an apartment booking:

  • Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday bookings only
  • Check-in window is between 16:00 to 23.00 on date of arrival. Students must confirm a specific time within this window so we can organise for a school staff member to meet the student with keys and instructions.
  • Please be aware that there is no reception or waiting area at the student accommodation. Arriving at the specific check-in time above is very important.  If the student arrives early we advise that they wait at the airport, in a coffee shop or restaurant for the confirmed check-in time.
  • Arrival details including time and a contact number must be sent to the school in advance in order to provide a smooth check in. This can be any number that can receive a text message, phone call or WhatsApp message. WhatsApp is useful for students who don’t have an Irish phone number but have connection to WI-FI (at the airport, on the Aircoach, in most cafes etc).
  • The school 24 hour emergency contact number: +353 86 7900 860 is available for calls or WhatsApp messages in case of emergencies or apartment check-in time delays (late flights, missed Aircoach ect).

Host Family Check-in Procedure

Host Family check-in details are required at least 28 days before course start date. The following is required for the school to secure and confirm a host family booking:

  • Host Family return transfer from either Cork Airport or Aircoach bus stop on Patrick’s Quay is available
  • Arrival details including time and a contact number must be sent to the school in advance in order to provide a smooth host family pick-up. This can be any number that can receive a text message, phone call or WhatsApp message. WhatsApp is useful for students who don’t have an Irish phone number but have connection to WI-FI (at the airport, on the Aircoach, in most cafes etc).
